World's Leading Baby Signing Programme
As you look around our Baby Signs site, you'll see that we exsist to bring the world's original, largest and best baby signing program to New Zealand families. I say this completely from a professional and personal perspective. Having been in education for over fifteen years I have not seen an eqvilant research based language programme for babies.
Our Personal Baby Sign Language Experience
From a personal perspective we were lucky enough to use the Baby Signs® programme with our daughter Grace. We found she was an easier baby to parent and her language development was far superior to her older brother Theo (we did not use the Baby Signs® programme with him). Some have mentioned "well of course, she's a girl". Yet this doesn't explain how our son, who was exposed to books far greater than our daughter still does not have the skill level in communication and language that our daughter does. Being the first child he certainly got a lot of Mummy and Daddy time!
Training with Drs. Linda Acredolo & Susan Goodwyn
In 2006 I was invited by Drs. Acredolo & Goodwyn to train with them in their home town Vacaville in California. Once this training was completed I became the first and only Director within New Zealand to be trained by the world's leading experts in baby signing. This was a great honour and to this day I feel priviledged to have been able to complete this training and represent the only research based baby sign language programme.
We hope that one day you too can look back and marvel at the wonderful things you've gained from using signs with your children.
