The Baby Signs® Parent Workshop is based on the breakthrough researchof Drs. Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn and the positive effects they uncovered teaching infants to communicate with signs before they can talk. |
The Baby Signs® Parent Workshop will introduce you to the history of the Baby Signs® movement and the research behind the programme. It will provide you with the knowledge and the strategies of how to begin teaching your baby to use signs.
Most importantly, you will learn about the many benefits of incorporating signing into your families lives. The Baby Signs® Parent Workshop is designed for parents with newborns to toddlers of two years of age. Over the course of the two hour workshop, you will learn:
- The benefits of using the Baby Signs ® programme
- Effective ways to teach signs
- When to start signing
- Easy ways to use signs in daily routines
- Ten Steps to Baby Signs ® Success
The Baby Signs ® Parent Workshop has been carefully designed by educational experts to ensure your signing success. Included in this design is the Parent Kit which contains the following:
- The Baby Signs ® Parent Guide – a fun, travel-guide-themed introduction to the Baby Signs ® Programme. Includes an illustrated glossary of 100 signs, delightful songs and nursery rhymes for signing at home, and more.
- Welcome to the Baby Signs ® Programme DVD – includes an introduction and Video Dictionary with real-life demonstrations of the 100 signs that are most useful to babies.
- My Baby Signs ® Sampler DVD – teaches babies two favourite signs: Drink and Bath and introduces parents to the My Baby Signs ® DVD series.
- Signs at a Glance Flipper – features 86 signs in a unique flip-card reference with magnetic backing for easy display on a refrigerator or other metal surface.
- My Baby Signs ® Bookmarks – highlight simple signs for use with favourite books for babies: Goodnight Moon, Brown Bear, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Five Little Monkeys, Corduroy’s Party and Babies.

Most classes are $70.00 per person $80.00 per couple. This price includes the Parent Kit retailing at $46.00 including GST.
